For those of you in the D.C., Maryland and Virginia areas interested in going electric, I've created a Facebook group for us to deal with issues specific to our region where we can discuss our experiences with dealerships, local electrical contractors, EVSE installations, State and Local Tax Credits and Public Charging Stations. Not sure how many people would actually be interested in an Electric Vehicle in the U.S. Capital but one voice of advocacy is better than none, I should think!
An Electric Car should no longer be a pipe dream. In 2008, Crude Oil reached a record high in excess of $150(US) a barrel. While Hybrid cars reduce dependence on nasty, expensive, polluting hydrocarbons, only by going fully electric can we free ourselves from being a slave to big oil! While expensive or short-range options exist, it's time we had a practical, affordable model for the consumer! We we demand no less, NOW!

Chicago gets geared up for Electric Vehicles
Woah! Utilities cutting power over night when demand is high, eh? So like, I set my charge to start at 10p15 when TOU off-peak starts and the utility says sorry, you can't have all that current and I wake at 5am, jump in my LEAF and find I don't have enough juice to get home from work! Bugger!
